Terms & Conditions

1. Registration in the competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. The LSE Generate Global Innovation Challenge reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions without notice and at its sole discretion.


2. Students must be in high school, currently on a gap year, a college freshman or a college sophomore during the entire competition timeline stated below. Failure of participants to meet or disclose the above-mentioned requirements will result in disqualification of the entire team.


3. Students register individually:


Registration Fee


a. The Early Bird registration fee is US $15 per student. Early Bird individual registration stage dates:
April 1st, 2026 - May 31st, 2026 (GMT+0), 23:59.

b. The Regular registration fee is US $20 per student. Regular individual registration stage dates:
June 1st, 2026 - August 4th, 2026 (GMT+0), 23:59.

c. The registration form closes automatically on August 4th (GMT+0), 23:59.
No registrations will be accepted after this time.

d. Students may reduce the registration fee by using a promo code (not accessible upon request).

 

4. Cancellation policy:
 

a. Registration fees are non-refundable.

b. By paying the registration fee and submitting your registration form, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the LSE Generate Global Innovation Challenge no refund policy.



5. All correspondence regarding the LSE Generate Global Innovation Challenge 2026 Competition will be made through the nominated contact details provided when registering. These emails must NOT be school emails.


6. Participants may enter the competition either individually or as part of a team consisting of two to three students. 

If participating in a team, it is the responsibility of the team leader to properly register the team and its members with the correct emails. A full team consists of 2 or 3 students in total. Team registration deadline: August 5th, 2026 ( GMT+0), 23:59.


7. LSE Generate Global Innovation Challenge is not responsible for updating incorrect email addresses.


8. Failure of all team members to complete their individual registrations will result in disqualification of the entire team.


9. Participants under the age of 18 years will be deemed to have obtained the permission of their parent or guardian to participate in the competition.


10. The Team Leader’s email will be used as identification for the team when accessing registrant-exclusive events and resources, as well as the written submissions in the regional and global rounds.


11. The timeline of the competition is:
 

a. Regional Round
Video submission deadline August 18th, 2026 (GMT+0), 23:59
Regional winners announcement August 25th (GMT+0), 23:59

b. Global Round
Global Round Live Pitch starts from August 30th, 2026 (exact time depends on the finalists’ timezones)
Global Winners announcement September 3rd, 2026 (GMT+0), 23:59
All changes will be published on the competition website, www.globinnovation.org


12. During the Regional and Global rounds, teams/individuals compete with each other based on the region the team represents. The selected region must reflect that in which the contestants are currently residing or studying and not place of birth or nationality if it differs from the aforementioned.

The following regions are available for selection:


a. Asia (including East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, NZ & AU)
b. North America
c. Europe + Central Asia
d. Latin America
e. MENA + Africa + Russia


13. Regional Round:


a. A video presentation will be submitted by the individual participant/team leader via YouTube ONLY. YouTube video link submission deadline August 18th, 2026 (GMT+0) 23:59.

b. Video presentation must be a minimum of 2 minutes in length and a maximum of 3 minutes in length.

c. Participants have full creative discretion in producing their videos. They may choose to use slides, adopt a documentary format, or present their content in an artistic style


d. Any video submissions not adhering to the above-mentioned will be disqualified.

e. Note that no scores, comments, or marked judging rubrics will be provided to participants for first round submissions due to the high volume of submissions.



14. Global Round:
The top 2 submissions from each region (15 teams overall) will be invited to the global virtual finals where they will present their work to a panel of global judges.


a. The Live Pitch must be a minimum of 3 minutes in length to a maximum of 5 minutes in length.

b. The Live Pitch will be followed by a 5-minute question and answer period.

c. If you're participating in a team, all team members must be present and speak during the Live Pitch.


15. Teams/individual participants must be present, available, online, and ready in the digital waiting room 10 minutes prior and 10 minutes after their allotted time slot (specified and communicated to participants over the course of the competition) during the Live Pitch time.


16. Students must have access to internet speeds capable of supporting video conferencing tools for presentations. The recommended internet speeds are 1.5Mbps/1.5Mbps (upload/download).
