There is no category requirement. However the selected social issue must fall under one of the UN's Sustainability Development Goals below:​

  • Length: Your pitch deck should be a maximum of 12 slides, including the title slide and appendix.

    • Make every slide count — judges will be reviewing a lot of decks, so aim for clarity over quantity.

  • Format: You have complete freedom in how you present your pitch. Whether it's visual and image-driven, narrative-driven storytelling, or a data-heavy breakdown — the format is entirely up to you. The final deck must be submitted as a PDF or PPTX.

  • Personal Introduction: A personal introduction, photo, or video component is completely optional. Feel free to include one if it helps tell your story, but it will not be required or expected.

  • Prototype/Tested Idea: You are NOT required to have a working prototype or a tested idea. We're looking for a well-identified issue and a thoughtful, well-reasoned solution — not a finished product.

  • Use of External Resources: You're welcome to use external data, statistics, etc. However, please make sure to acknowledge all sources you reference.

    • For example: If you include data points, mention where they came from, either directly on the slide or in a dedicated sources/appendix slide.

  • Judging: Our panel of expert judges will grade your submission based on this grading rubric.

Eligibility

The competition is open to high school students and gap year students. Each student must register for the competition here.

Students can participate individually or as a team of 2-4 participants. Once you register individually, you'll be sent the link for team registration. 
​
If you're participating as a team, kindly designate a team leader who will register your team and you must ensure that each team member has contributed to the creation of the regional pitch deck.

Submission Guidelines

To submit your entry for the Regional Round, please check your inbox for the submission link. 
 

  • Upload Your Pitch Deck: Your pitch must be uploaded as a PDF or PPTX file. Please ensure your file is complete, correctly formatted, and opens properly before submitting. If our judges are unable to view your pitch, unfortunately you will be disqualified.
     

  • File Name Format: Please name your file as follows: LGIC26_Region_Your/TeamName

    • You can find your designated region in the FAQ page, question #7.
